Due to Allegheny County’s COVID risk level increasing to Medium and following the guidance of local school and health officials, the Children’s Museum and MuseumLab are now following a Masks Required policy.
All visitors 2+ and staff are required to wear masks indoors. Masks are available upon request.
We will continue to limit admission capacity across the campus. We recommend all visitors purchase timed tickets in advance when possible to visit on the day and time of their choosing.
Thank you for helping us navigate these unprecedented times with respect and kindness.
To safely accommodate all visitors and limit the number of people in the building at one time, we have implemented timed ticketing through our online reservation system.
We strongly recommend all visitors, including members, reserve the day and time you wish to visit to ensure a safe and comfortable visit. We will admit walk-up visitors if capacity allows.
All visitors must initiate admission in the Children’s Museum lobby, where we have implemented a touchless admission system for added safety. Scan your admission ticket purchase receipt for admission. Members can scan their electronic member cards for admission.
We have also installed touchless hand sanitizers throughout the campus and motion detectors to allow hands-free operation of bathroom lights and paper towel dispensers.
We have a daily capacity limit for the combined MuseumLab and Children’s Museum to help ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all. Our timed ticketing system will help us maintain these limits.
You may be asked to wait outside until your ticket time.
If you arrive after your schedule ticket time, you may be asked to wait outside based on capacity.
Bean Sprouts is a hip & healthy café located in the Children’s Museum. It offers lots of choices for lunch or a snack, adhering to clean ingredient guidelines and featuring organic and sustainable foods, compostable packaging and eco-friendly design. Plus a walk-up coffee bar.
