mlabPASS: youth

What is mlabPASS?

MlabPASS provides students in grades 6 – 8 in Pittsburgh access to MuseumLab’s state-of-the-art facilities for cutting-edge experiences in art, making and tech.

MuseumLab educators and mentors, many who are working artists and performers, offer an enriching, creative and safe place for your child to explore.

Experiences include:

• Exploring new arts and making skills
• Working with artists, makers and educators to explore hands-on creative projects
• Learning design thinking, budgeting, financial literacy, entrepreneurship
• Fostering interpersonal skills

Cost

$95 per year
Includes most supplies, materials and access to tools

Six-Week Intensives

Offered Tuesdays & Thursdays
3:30 – 5:30 pm
For six weeks we focus on one art/making subject, such as fiber arts, metalworking or photography and offer skill-building workshops on that subject.

Drop-in Open Studio

Offered Fridays
3:30 – 5:30 pm
Open Studio allows you to explore your own hands-on creative experiences in a relaxed setting.

Quarterly Youth Nights

Youth Nights are festive art and making events for a large number of youth offered four times a year.

Schedule changes will be communicated to Pass holders as necessary. We follow Pittsburgh Public School’s weather closures.

Early Bird Discount!

November 29 – December 3
Every mlabPASS purchased from Friday, November 29, through Tuesday, December 3, receives a 10% discount.  Discount automatically applied when purchasing.

Parent & Youth Orientation

Every youth participant and a parent or guardian must attend one orientation session before they can activate their mlabPASS. Sessions are offered:

Complete these steps starting on November 29 to get your mlabPASS!

1. Purchase mlabPASS online here or at the Children’s Museum
   Passes are discounted 10% from November 29 through December 3.
2. Register for an Orientation Session
   Registration link coming soon.
3. Complete a Youth & Parent application form
   Application form will be included in confirmation email you receive upon purchase. You may submit your form at the orientation session you attend.
