Summer camps at MuseumLab and Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh are where children and youth can explore art, making, storytelling, nature, game design, metalworking and much more!
Camps for Grades 4 – 5 (ages 9-10) and Grades 6 – 8 (ages 11-13) are listed below.
All camps take place at MuseumLab.
The camp day is 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Learn to safely use tools like drills, saws and soldering irons. Hot? Sharp? Loud? No problem!

Coding in Action
Use coding and computers to create cool projects in the real world, from controlling robots to cutting wood with a laser.
Studio Arts
Learn classic and contemporary approaches to art studio favorites. Build a mini-portfolio of skills while creating mixed-media sculptures, large scale sketches, experimental paintings and more.
Clay Exploration
Learn techniques to create coil pots, slab roll mugs and more in this hands-on ceramics camp. Campers can pick up their kiln-fired pieces one week after the completion of camp.
Improve (or learn!) how to sew both by hand and on a sewing machine. Try different techniques and tools to see what styles suit you best.
Game Design
Board games, card games, field games, paper-and-pencil games… become an expert on what makes great games!
Science in Nature
Learn about plants, animals and the natural world around you through observation, experiments and play.
Animation
From hand-drawn to stop-motion, experiment with different animation techniques while making micro movies.
Graphic Novels
Graphic novels are both stories and art! From storyboarding to character development to design, learn the skills to create your own illustrated work.

Ready, set, transform! Learn costume design and makeup techniques to bring your own fantastic characters and stories to life.
Intro to Metals
Explore metalworking through tools and techniques such as electro etching, sawing, enameling and soldering. Presented by the Arconic Foundation.

Model Houses & Miniatures
Build and decorate a small-scale house of your own design. Decide on the function, furnishing, and style of your unique space.
The Science of Art
Art studio meets science lab in this immersive camp for curious creatives. Explore processes such as the chemistry behind paint, the engineering in sculpture, and the tech behind digital art.

Enameling
