Creating with Cans: Remake & Recycle to Reimagine Learning

Did you know that every time you toss a can into a recycling bin, you are missing an opportunity to engage learners? Working alongside Children’s Museum experts in metals and making, you will take a deep dive into how there can be additional layers of learning when making, especially when using found and recycled materials: See examples of how the metals around us can be repurposed in the classroom. Engage in thinking about the systems involved in the life cycle of an aluminum can. Get hands on with metalworking to explore its potential for learning and engagement. Develop solutions for addressing safety concerns associated with metalworking and other forms of making, so that you can confidently bring your new ideas to life when you return to your learning space.
